Two Short Pieces by Louis Andlauer, arranged for saxophone quartet AATB. Louis Andlauer was a late 19th/early 20th century Belgian organist and composer. He was a student of Charles-Marie Widor and organist at Notre-Dame-des-Champs in Paris. The Deux Pièces Brèves were written in 1912 near the end of his life. Both movements are somewhat dark and chromatic.
The movements of this work are: 1. Andantino, 2. Soutenu.
This arrangement is for AATB saxophone quartet. Other than Alto 1, the parts have a fairly limited range. The rhythms are simple and straightforward. There are several time signature changes in the second movement.
